MANATEE — A 31-year-old Manatee County man was arrested Monday and charged with intent to commit a felony and child abuse after he threatened a family member with a homemade knife, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Justin Seth Graf was in the Manatee County jail Tuesday without bond, according to the sheriff’s office website.

According to the female victim and witnesses, Graf and the victim reportedly started shouting at each other at 9:34 p.m. Monday in an apartment the 100 block of 26th Avenue East.

The argument reportedly turned physical when Graf held a homemade knife in his hand while pointing the sharp end within inches of the victim’s chest.

Graf reportedly said to the victim: “I’m going to cut your heart out and murder you.”

A witness trying to step between the victim and Graf was reportedly pushed by Graf into the street where he was nearly struck by oncoming traffic. Graf was located and arrested without incident.
