Gallery | Great egret shows grace under pressure

March 17, 2014

Caught in a blustery but warm breeze, a great egret balances gracefully on its long, spindly legs out at the Palma Sola neighborhood park in West Bradenton. There's only three more days until the vernal equinox signals the official arrival of spring (unless you happen to use the arrival of the Pittsburgh Pirates to mark the change in season). And if this weekend was any indication, people are out in droves across Manatee County, enjoying the perfect weather and myriad events around town. So if you've been camped out indoors, it's high time to time to stretch those wings and catch the wind.
