FHP reopens I-75 traffic after brush fire forces closure

MANATEE — Heavy smoke from a brush fire forced the Florida Highway Patrol to close a section of Interstate 75 in southern Sarasota County at 3:42 p.m. Sunday.

It has reopened.

The section closed extended from mile marker 182 to 179 and includesdnorth and southbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol website.

FHP detoured traffic off the interstate.
