Man struck, robbed while picking up girlfriend's dog


MANATEE -- A local man was in for a painful surprise when he went to pick up his girlfriend's dog Saturday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The 32-year-old victim is in the process of moving out of his home in the 2300 block of University Parkway, according to the report. He called Kimberly Winning, who lives at the residence, to arrange to pick up the dog belonging to his girlfriend, who is in prison, the report states.

As the victim walked into the residence, he was hit on the back of the head, authorities said. Winning then grabbed the man's wallet from his pocket, according to the report.

Winning was arrested along with another woman, Annette Byrd, as well as a man who was not identified by authorities.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
