Manatee DUI patrol results in 11 arrests

MANATEE -- A DUI saturation patrol by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office resulted in 11 total arrests, authorities said Saturday.

The countywide patrol, conducted between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday by the sheriff's Traffic Unit, netted five DUI arrests, three other misdemeanor arrests and three other felony arrests, according to a news release.

Twenty-two citations were also issued: 16 for unlawful speed and six for other traffic violations.

Deputies also issued six written warnings, and one underage driver was suspended for having a breath alcohol level over .02.
