Goodwill relocates boutique

SARASOTA -- Goodwill Manasota relocated its boutique store to 1704 N. Honore Ave. to make it easier for Manatee residents to shop there.

The grand opening for the new location will be held March 20 beginning at 9 a.m. and will feature drawings to win Goodwill gift certificates.

Goodwill's Boutique opened in Sarasota in 2011 and has been a successful retail arm of Goodwill. It has become known for upscale ladies' apparel, shoes, accessories and art. The chic store offers several upscale brands including Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Coach and Vera Wang.

All proceeds from the boutique and the retail stores support Goodwill's mission of providing career services and job placement and training to the community with a focus on those with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

Quiznos files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection

DENVER -- Denver-based Quiznos has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to reduce its debt by more than $400 million.

The toasted sandwich chain said Friday that it voluntarily filed to reorganize to implement a pre-packaged restructuring plan. Quiznos says the move won't affect its customers.

The company only owns and operates seven of the nearly 2,100 Quiznos restaurants. The rest are owned operated by franchisees and aren't part of the bankruptcy proceedings.

It also says its distribution centers are open and fulfilling orders.

Quiznos says the restructuring plan has been approved by its creditors so it expects to emerge from restructuring quickly.

Florida Timeshare owners Spring meeting set

SARASOTA -- The Florida Timeshare Owners Group Spring meeting will be held March 30 at the Palm Aire Country Club.

The meeting will take place at 1 p.m. at 5601 Country Club Way, Sarasota. Guest Speakers will include Kris Jamtaas, Sr. Vice President of Resort Condominiums International, Lisa Ann Schreier, Director of Timeshare Insights, Brian Rogers, Administrator of Timeshare Users Group, and Scott MacGregor, Principal Partner of CaryMacGregor Resort Services.

Membership in the Florida Timeshare Owners Group is open to all timeshare owners. Round-table discussions with other timeshare owners and tips from well-known Guest Speakers and representatives of exchange companies are designed to offer information. Non-members are encouraged to attend.
