Bradenton takes part in 'Purim Pandemnium'

SARASOTA -- The annual "Purim Pandemonium" celebration and carnival begins at 11 a.m. March 23, at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road in Sarasota.

The carnival will feature a giant inflatable slide, bounce house, obstacle course, dunk tank, face-painting, games and prizes, lunch, cotton candy, sno-cones, frozen lemonade and plenty of home-baked hamentashen.

All proceeds benefit Temple Emanu-El Religious School.

Advance game and food tickets are available at a discount through March 21, or may be purchased at the event.

Preceding the "Purim Pandemonium" carnival is the annual 10 a.m. family service, which includes Purim songs, an original Purim play, costume parade with prizes for all participants, and a reading of the Megillah -- a scroll containing the Book of Esther. The service is open to the community.

Anne Steinbach is chairwoman of "Purim Pandemonium."
