Manatee deputies investigate drive-by shooting in Palmetto

MANATEE -- Someone early Wednesday fired several gunshots into a Palmetto house while residents were asleep inside, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

No one was injured in the shooting, in the 2300 block of First Avenue East, Palmetto, according to a news release.

The shooting happened about 4:30 a.m.

"The victims were inside asleep and where unable to observe who was responsible, or what vehicle they drove away in," the report states.
