Recap: Kansas City vs. Los Angeles

Surprise, AZ ( - Noel Cuevas hit a three-run home run in his only at-bat in the top of the ninth to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 7-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Scott Van Slyke was 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, Chone Figgins went 2- for-4 with one RBI and A.J. Ellis scored on a wild pitch for the Dodgers. Dan Haren threw four innings and gave up one run on seven hits.

Justin Maxwell was 3-for-5 with two RBI, Carlos Peguero picked up two RBI and Brett Hayes had an RBI single in his lone at-bat. Jason Vargas gave up one run on four hits through four innings.
