UNIVERSITY PARK -- Rustic furniture and interior decorating store Pottery Barn is the latest store to file building plans for the Mall at University Town Center.

The store filed a building permit application Monday and will be 8,699 square feet. Construction is expected to cost $914,000, according to the building permit.

Pottery Barn has a store in the Westfield Southgate mall in Sarasota as well as Old Hyde Park in Tampa. There is no indication yet whether the Sarasota store will close to move to the new mall. A spokesman for the Southgate mall said there is not any information yet concerning the store's future.

Pottery Barn was founded in 1949 and is part of the Williams-Sonoma company that also owns West Elm and accessories store Mark and Graham. Pottery Barn will join stores like Brooks Brothers, Omega, Sephora, Oil & Vinegar plus department stores Dillard's, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue inside the $315 million, 880,000-square-foot mall that's expected to open Oct. 16 at Cattlemen Road and University Parkway.
