BPD stymied in robbery of Bradenton victim

BRADENTON — The Bradenton Police Department reported a robbery at 7:25 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Eighth Street West.

BPD reported the victim was driven to a 7-Eleven convenience store at 3332 Manatee Ave. W. by an unknown male and unknown female.

The victim reportedly completed a money gram transaction and asked for a ride to Eighth Street and Sixth Avenue West. An argument reportedly began between the victim and the male driver over payment for the ride.

When the victim exited the car the driver reportedly forcing him to the ground, removed $45 from his pocket and fled the area in a white Chevrolet Lumina. The victim was uninjured.

Video from 7-Eleven not available, according to the BPD and the Detective Division was not contacted due to limited information.
