Suspect arrested after chase in stolen car in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A 19-year-old man driving a stolen car was arrested after he led deputies on a chase early Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 2 a.m., deputies spotted the car and made a traffic stop. The suspect fled and was chased to the area of the 2700 block of 26th Avenue East, where a felony stop was made, according to a news release.

"There were no injuries and no damage to any vehicles or property during the pursuit," the sheriff's office said.

The driver, Tevin Span, 19, was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and fleeing to elude.

Span faces charges of motor vehicle theft, fleeing to elude and driving with a suspended/revoked driver's license. He is being held at the Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $9,500.
