Recap: San Francisco vs. San Diego

Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Avry Holmes scored 19 points as the San Francisco Dons defeated the San Diego Toreros, 69-60, in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena.

Tim Derksen had 15 points while Cole Dickerson tallied 14 and eight rebounds for the third-seeded Dons (21-10), who extended their winning streak to six games. San Francisco will face BYU on Monday in the semifinals.

Dennis Kramer had 19 points for the sixth-seeded Toreros (16-16), who have lost two straight games. Johnny Dee added 13 points as Christopher Anderson chipped in 12 points, nine boards and six assists.

USF shot 46.2 percent from the field, including 6-of-12 from 3-point range, in the first period as it led 33-23 at the break. USD made 45.5 percent of its field goal attempts, but only 2-of-8 from beyond the arc, not to mention 1-of-4 at the free-throw line.

The Dons connected on just 38.1 percent of their shots from the floor in the second half, but went 19-of-24 at the charity stripe. Dee hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one with 8:36 remaining. From that point USF went on an 8-0 run to create some space and never looked back.

The Toreros attempted nearly twice as many 3-pointers as the Dons, 31-17.
