Recap: Cleveland vs. Chicago Cubs

Goodyear, AZ ( - Justin Masterson led five Cleveland hurlers on a combined nine-hit shutout in the Indians' 1-0 spring training win over the Chicago Cubs.

Masterson scattered three hits and a walk while striking out three over the first three frames, with Aaron Harang and Trevor Bauer following with two scoreless innings apiece.

Cubs starter Trevor Wood yielded just one hit and fanned three over three innings of work before giving way to Justin Grimm, who surrendered the game's only run with a bases-loaded walk to Asdrubal Cabrera in the fourth.

Emilio Bonifacio and Anthony Rizzo collected two hits each for Chicago.
