IMG Academy's Mika Liu tied for fifth place at the recent LPGA Symetra Tour event held in City of Industry, Calif. The 15-year-old amateur fired a 1-under-par total for the 54-hole tournament to finish six shots behind Kim Kaufman, who won the 2014 Volvik Championship on Monday.
The LPGA Symetra Tour goes on hiatus until March 21, when the Florida Swing starts in Lake Wales. The four-tournament stretch includes the Guardian Retirement Championship at Sara Bay Country Club beginning April 25.
The teams for the inaugural Concession Cup were announced recently. United States team members for the eight-man Mid-Amateur (ages 25-54) include: Gene Elliott, Scott Harvey, Tim Jackson, Trip Kuehne, Mike McCoy, Gary Nicklaus, Nathan Smith and Todd White. The Great Britain & Ireland side will feature James Bunch, Matthew Clark, Robbie Cannon, Harry Diamond, Eogham O'Connell, Edward Richardson, Ben Westgate and Martin Young.
The tournament also has two super seniors (ages 65 and older), including former pro Jim Holtgrieve and Robert Lewis for the United States, while Peter Hedges and Ian Hutcheon represent Great Britain & Ireland.
The match play event kicks off at the end of April with practice rounds before the first day of competition May 1 at The Concession Golf Club in East Manatee. The tournament and wraps up May 3.
On Feb. 14 at Buffalo Creek, David Carlock aced the 157-yard 3rd hole with a 7-iron. Witnesses were Terry Kennedy, Frank Trenholme and Bill Rafferty.

On Feb. 15 at Peridia, Marilyn Stedadman aced the 110-yard 5th hole with a driver. Witnesses were Lou Stedadman, Don Droper and Judy Droper.
On Feb. 17 at Terra Ceia Bay, Jane Holden aced the 92-yard 11th hole with an 11-wood. Witnesses were Jan Jolly, Donna Ziffilo and Jean Van Heiden.
On Feb. 21 at Peridia, Bob MacLarty aced the 2nd hole with a 9-iron. Witnesses were Lyle Taylor, Rich Smith and Joe Herold.
On Feb. 22 at Pinebroook-Ironwood, Teresa McMurry aced the 88-yard 3rd hole with an 8-iron. Witnesses were Diane Gossett and Vivian Shields.
On Feb. 26 at Peridia, Wanda Wade aced the 101-yard 16th hole with a driver. Witnesses were Carol Walter, Jane Gow and Kate Marchetti.
