Take Stock in Children Manatee grateful for event support

March 5, 2014

University of South Florida football head coach Willie Taggart spoke about the importance of being a good mentor during Take Stock In Children's annual prayer breakfast in early February 2014. About 300 people attended the breakfast to benefit the mentoring and scholarship program. Taggart, a Palmetto native and Manatee High School graduate, said Manatee High School football head coach Joe Kinnan and Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, are mentors for him.MARC MASFERRER/Bradenton Herald

Thanks to the Manatee County community for supporting Take Stock in Children Manatee 10k/5k/Fun Run on Sunday.

Take Stock in Children Manatee provides scholarships and mentoring to deserving Manatee County students. Events like the one on Sunday provide more opportunities for students and their families to experience the life-changing impact of post secondary education.

Many thanks to the sponsors and donors, the Lakewood Ranch area for hosting us, the students, the parents and the Manatee School District personnel who participated in the fundraiser.

Take Stock in Children Manatee is so grateful for the continuing community support. "Scholarships Mentors and Hope" matter in our community.
