Sam Woolf can't say much about what he has planned for his next "American Idol" appearance. When he talks to reporters on the phone, someone from the show is on the line to make sure he doesn't spill any secrets.

But when she tells him he can talk in general ways about what song he's going to perform Wednesday, he reveals that it's another slow song, that it's a cover, and that he'll be playing guitar.

His coaches, Randy Jackson and Rickey Minor, have "been telling me to connect more, so that's what I've been working on," Woolf said Monday. "They want me to connect more with the songs."
