Bradenton woman found dead in her bed after she fails to show up for work

March 3, 2014

BRADENTON -- A 64-year-old woman was found dead in her Bradenton home Monday afternoon, after she did not show up for work, according to Bradenton police.

Police were first contacted about 9:57 a.m. An officer responded to her residence in the 2200 block of 23rd Avenue West. There was no answer, the door was locked, and the officer was unable to see through the windows if anything appeared unusual, police said.

At 12:40 p.m., police received another call "when a co-worker came to the residence and with the assistance of a neighbor, gained access into the residence" and found the woman dead in her bed.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

The woman's doctor would not sign the death certificate so the medical examiner's office was contacted, police said.

The woman's name was not included in the report.
