Steelers use transition tag on Worilds

The Sports NetworkMarch 3, 2014

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Steelers designated linebacker Jason Worilds as the club's transition player.

That guarantees the Steelers the right of first refusal to match any offer sheet Worilds, an unrestricted free agent, may receive from another team.

Worilds registered a career-best eight sacks last season.

Selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Worilds has compiled 121 tackles and 18 sacks.
