Drugs, cash seized during warrant search at Bradenton home

— Two people were arrested and drugs and more than $5,000 in cash were seized during a warrant search at a Bradenton home Friday night, police report.

The Bradenton Police Department's Casual Clothes Unit executed the narcotic search warrant around 6:19 p.m. in the 1600 block of 18th Street West, according to the report.

Arrested were Christopher Green and La-Destiny Evans, both charged with possession of marijuana. Green faces an additional charge of obstruction of justice, police said.

Officers seized an estimated $5,500 to $6,500 in U.S. currency, narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia, according to the report.

"Neighbors around this location thanked the police department for executing the warrant and stated that the residents at this location have been a nuisance in the neighborhood," the report reads. "CCU will be contacting the property owner to assure that the renters/residents of this location are properly evicted."
