Women Voters to hold forumon immigration

BRADENTON -- The League of Women Voters of Manatee County will present a program on immigration reform on Monday, March 10.

Featured speakers include Beatriz Paniego Bejar, communications director of Unidos Now, an immigrant advocacy organization; immigration attorney Maria Mata Ruhl; and Bob Spencer, president of West Coast Tomato, based in Palmetto.

The public information program will take place at the Bradenton Woman's Club, 1705 Manatee Ave. W., from noon to 1 p.m.. The doors will open at 11:30 am for a light lunch and social time.

Animal Services chief to speak at women's club

BRADENTON -- The Women of Manatee County Republican Club on Friday, March 7, will present a program featuring the head of Manatee County Animal Services.

Kris Weiskopf is the manager of Manatee County Animal Services.

The program will start at 11:30 a.m. at Bradenton Country Club, 4646 Ninth Ave. W.
