2 hurt in East Manatee crash; State Road 64 reopened

MANATEE -- Two people were injured in a crash Friday morning on State Road 64 East in East Manatee.

The crash forced the closure of State Road 64 in both directions but by 10:45 a.m., it had been reopened.

The crash, which was reported at 9:16 a.m., happened at the intersection with 162nd Street East, according to the Florida Highway Patrol website.

Manatee County Public Safety officials said one person was ejected from a vehicle. One person was taken by medical helicopter to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, the other was taken by ambulance, officials said.

Other details about the crash were not immediately available.
