Inaugural "Second Chance Prom": The Senior Advocacy Council will host its inaugural "Second Chance Prom" 6-11 p.m. March 1 at the Central Manatee Banquet Hall, 509 Ninth St. E., Bradenton, featuring elegant dining and dancing, complimentary cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and carving stations. Asolo Repertory Theatre annual gala "A Night at the Rainbow Room": Relive the glamour of the Rainbow Room at the Asolo Repertory Theatre's "A Night at the Rainbow Room," 6 p.m. March 1 featuring a special evening of dining and dancing, a silent auction and live music by former New York City Rainbow Room headliner Michael Andrew and The Atomic Big Band. St. David's Day 30th Anniversary Celebration: The Gulf Coast St. David's Welsh Society will celebrate its 30th anniversary of St. David's Day 6-10 p.m. March 1 at Heritage Oaks Golf and Country Club, 4800 Chase Oaks Drive, Sarasota. Fifth annual Take Stock in Children 10K, 5K, and Fun Run: Take Stock in Children of Manatee County will hold its fifth annual Take Stock in Children 10K, 5K, and Fun Run March 2 with both the 10K and 5K scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. and the Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. A post race party with food, entertainment, raffles, age group awards and kids activities will follow the race. Paws in Motion Walk-a-thon: The Humane Society of Manatee County invites the public to join the eighth annual Paws in Motion Walk-a-thon Fundraiser starting with registration at 8 a.m. followed by the walk Feb. 8 at the Bradenton River Walk Pavilion, 452 Third Ave. W., Bradenton. Walkers are encouraged to create teams, fundraise and bring their families and dogs. Walkers will enjoy entertainment, prize drawings, food and beverage vendors and a Doggie Fun Zone obstacle course. A Top Dog Run-Off will take place a 1 p.m. "Me and My Pet" drawings open to children Pre-K to 5th grade are due Feb. 14 to the Humane Society, 2515 14th St. W., Bradenton. All submitted drawings will be displayed at the walk-a-thon and winners will be announced at noon. Walk T-shirts, goody wag bags and a pass to the Doggie Fun Zone will be given to all registered walkers. Registration: $25 adults, $10 children ages 15 and younger. 15th annual St. Patty's Day Poker Run: The Sarasota Harley Owners Group will sponsor their 15th annual St. Patty's Day Poker Run beginning with registration 11 a.m.-noon March 9 at the Humane Society of Sarasota County, 2331 15th St., Sarasota. Cost: $15 per hand or three hands for $20. There will be door prizes and prize drawings. All poker run stops are Irish Pubs or restaurants. A 37 and a 62 mile ride starts at 8 a.m. and a 16 mile ride starts at 9 a.m.. A catered lunch will be served 11 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be full road support and rest stops with snacks.
