GAME NOTES: The Davidson Wildcats can clinch the Southern Conference's regular season title on Thursday night with a win over the UNC-Greensboro Spartans at Belk Arena.

Davidson sits atop the conference with a 13-1 mark with just two games remaining, including this one. Second-place Elon is two games back at 11-3. Davidson will battle Elon in the regular-season finale on Saturday. Elon is the only SoCon team to beat Davidson this season.

The Wildcats come into this game riding a season-best 10-game winning streak after defeating Wofford, 59-49, on Saturday night. De'Mon Brooks paced the Wildcats with a game-high 18 points, connecting on all six of his attempts from the field, while grabbing eight rebounds. Tyler Kalinoski added 10 points for Davidson, which used an 18-6 run early in the second half to take control.

After the Terriers took a 32-30 lead early in the second half, the Wildcats went on their spurt to push the margin to double digits, 48-38, and cruise to the win.

Brooks leads the Wildcats and is among the SoCon leaders with 18.3 ppg this season. He also grabs a team-best 6.8 rpg for Davidson, which scores an average of 77.7 ppg this season. Brian Sullivan (12.9), Tom Droney (11.1) and Kalinoski (11.1) round out the team's double-figure scorers.

The Spartans, meanwhile, come into this contest looking to remain in the sixth seed in the SoCon. While UNC-Greensboro can't move into the top five to receive and automatic first-round bye, it can stay in the sixth seed with a win.

The Spartans improved to 6-8 in the conference with an 88-84 win over Chattanooga on Sunday. Junior forward Kyle Cain finished with a game-high 24 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for the Spartans, who recorded their second largest scoring output this season in the SoCon and the fourth-highest total overall.

Cain leads the Spartans with 15.8 ppg and 9.2 rpg. Tevon Saddler (12.5) and Kayel Locke (11.6) round out the double-figure scorers for UNC-Greenboro, which averages 71.4 ppg and yields 73.7 ppg.

These two teams battled back on Jan 18 with Davidson coming away with a 93-82 win. Brooks tallied 24 points and nine rebounds to lead the Wildcats, who began their recent winning streak with this victory. For UNC-Greensboro, Nicholas Paulos scored 27 points on a perfect 9-of-9 from beyond the arc, a school record for most 3-pointers in a game without a miss. Tevon Saddler logged 20 points and seven assists and Kyle Cain produced 19 points and seven boards.

Expect much of the same in this contest. Davidson doesn't want its top-seeding to come down to Saturday against Elon, so expect them to take care of business in this game and seal the top seed. Davidson has been rolling and the Spartans don't have the offense on the road to stay with the Wildcats.
