Bi-Lo Holdings LLC, parent company of the Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie grocery store chains, completed its acquisition of Sweetbay stores and is set to convert those stores to the Winn-Dixie brand.

As the Sweetbay stores are converted Bi-Lo will close them. All area stores will be closed on a rolling schedule and transformed into Winn-Dixie grocery stores.

Local stores set to close March 22 are the Bradenton stores at 5802 14th St. W. and 2501 Cortez Rd. W. In addition the Sarasota store at 1325 Tamiami Trail is set to close.

Stores set to close March 29 are at 5805 Manatee Ave. in Bradenton and 515 Seventh St. W. in Palmetto.

While most of the Sweetbay merchandise will be acquired by Winn-Dixie, Sweetbay indicated in a press release it may mark down some merchandise for sale.
