Music in the Park is back in Bradenton

The six-week free music series starts Wednesday on the Riverwalk

Over the next six weeks there's lots of free live music coming to the Bradenton Riverwalk.

The Music in the Park series starts Wednesday with a special mid-day kickoff concert. Then the regular Friday night series gets going on March 7 and continues every week through April 11.

All the concerts are free. Wednesday's concert begins at 11:30 a.m.; all the Friday concerts begin at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Manatee Concert Band, a community band comprising musicians of all ages -- from high school band members to former professional musicians -- performs a patriotic concert starting at 11:30 a.m.

On Friday, the series hosts a screening of "Kelly's Heroes," along with music by the Sarasota Pops.

Here's the rest of the schedule:

March 14: Scott Blum and Friends (jazz, swing, pop, show tunes and big band favorites).

March 21: George Worthmore (ragtime and blues).

March 22: The Second Time Arounders Marching Band in a special 7 p.m. Saturday concert.

March 28: Michael Weiss (singer/songwriter) April 4: Brian Spainhower (nuevo flamenco, jazz, rock, fusion, country).

April 11: Kristopher James (singer/songwriter).

Food and beverages will be for sale. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
