Manatee juvenile leads deputies on car chase before arrest

BRADENTON — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reportedly chased down a 14-year-old male auto theft suspect Monday.

The victim reported at 7:45 a.m. her vehicle stolen from her home and her son as a runaway.

A deputy reportedly spotted the stolen vehicle at 1500 27th Ave. E. and attempted to apprehend the driver.

The juvenile reportedly fled from the deputy in the vehicle. The chase reportedly lasted one mile and three minutes with speeds between 30 mph and 70 mph.

The juvenile was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Booking Facility. No one was injured during the pursuit.
