February 24, 2014

BRADENTON -- A suspect was arrested after someone smashed a large storefront window at a Bradenton gas station early Monday, according to Bradenton police.

About 12:58 a.m., officers responded to an audible alarm at the Marathon gas station at 2009 14th St. W., according to a report.

"During the course of the investigation officers developed probable cause to initiate an arrest on a subject who had been trespassed from the business several hours prior," the report states. "Nothing was taken from the store and the store video showed that the subject broke the window causing over $1,000 worth of damage and then immediately left the area."

The suspect was identified as Bill Rose, 57. He faces charges of criminal mischief and probation violations, and was being held at the Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $2,500.
