Manatee detectives investigate fatal shooting of 20-year-old man in Bradenton

MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported a fatal shooting at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Kerson Edmond, 20, was discovered deceased inside the residence at 3524 30th Lane E., Bradenton, according to the report.

Deputies reported Edmond came to the residence and got into a verbal argument with one of the occupants, a 33-year-old woman.

According to witnesses, the argument reportedly turned physical and Edmonds, started beating the woman with a handgun.

Another occupant of the residence, a 33-year-old man and pulled out a gun and shot Edmond, according to the report.

No one has been charged in connection with the shooting as detectives investigate the possibility of self-defense.
