USAFA, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Deonte Burton tallied 21 points and handed out five assists as the Nevada Wolf pack crushed the Air Force Falcons, 75-56, in a Mountain West Conference battle at Clune Arena.
Burton converted all but one of his seven field goal attempts and 7-of-8 at the free-throw line for the Wolf Pack (13-15, 8-7 MWC) as they snapped a five- game slide. Jerry Evans stepped up with a double-double consisting of 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Michael Perez and Cole Huff responded with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Falcons (10-15, 4-10) were paced by Tre' Coggins with 14 points, hitting 4-of-8 shots beyond the arc, while Max Yon tacked on 12 points, although the latter missed all four of his chances on the perimeter.
Nevada opened the meeting on a 10-0 run and never looked back, shooting 56.0 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes of action to claim a 35-29 edge at the break.
In the second half Air Force tried desperately to stay within striking distance, but the team ended up converting a meager 3-of-17 beyond the arc, as well as a dismal 4-of-12 at the free-throw line.
The Pack knocked down an impressive 51.9 percent from the field for the day and also produced a 40-31 rebounding advantage.
