Recap: Virginia Tech vs. NC State

Blacksburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Warren erupted for 31 points as he helped guide the NC State Wolfpack to a 71-64 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies in ACC action at Cassell Coliseum.

Warren made good on 12-of-21 shots from the floor, cleared six rebounds and made four steals for the Wolfpack (17-10, 7-7 ACC) as the team snapped a two- game slide. Before fouling out, Kyle Washington pitched in with 13 points, while Tyler Lewis chipped in eight points and handed out 11 assists in the road win.

The Hokies (9-17, 2-12), losers of two straight and 12 of the last 13, were paced by Devin Wilson and Jarell Eddie with 14 points apiece, the former handing out nine assists before fouling out.

NC State scored the first points of the day and never looked back, limiting the Hokies to only 7-of-22 shooting from the floor, including 2-of-9 beyond the arc, settling in at the break with a 35-25 score.

In the second half Virginia Tech battled back with an impressive 55.0 percent effort from the field, but the hosts were simply dreadful at the free-throw line (13-of-26) in the period.

In addition to turning the ball over 17 times, the Hokies shot only 22-of-37 at the charity stripe.
