ANNA MARIA -- Roser Thrift Shop is asking for donations to its thrift store.
"Sales are up and the number of customers in the shop is up and we're selling our goodies like crazy," said Bev Shepperson, church administrator. "Please help us by cleaning out those closets, jewelry boxes, garages, and cabinets."
Books, recent magazines, housewares, clean clothes for men and women and linens are needed.
The store does not accept furniture, TVs or microwaves.
Donations preferred between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday but they can be brought in any time the shop is open.
The Guild Thrift Store is an all-volunteer operation managed by co-chairwomen Mary Lechleidner and Eileen Micho. The store is staffed by the Roser Women's Guild.
Volunteers are also needed.
Proceeds allow the Guild to underwrite scholarships and community programs through the sale of such items as 50-cent used caps, 10-cent used tableware and $3 used shirts. Also available: small appliances, comforters, bed spreads, jewelry, magazines and books.
Roser Thrift Store hours are 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Roser Thrift Store is across the street from Roser Community Church, 512 Pine Ave. in Anna Maria.
The Guild Style Show and Lunch is at noon March 11 in the Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $10 and reservations must be in by March 5. Limited tickets available.
