BRADENTON -- Three men were arrested during an undercover prostitution operation conducted by the Bradenton Police Department on Thursday.

The operation centered on 14th Street West, according to a department release.

During the operation, subjects thought they were negotiating for sex with a prostitute but were talking with an undercover police officer, the report states.

Those arrested included men aged 22, 24 and 40, according to the release.

All three were charged with the misdemeanor crime of solicitation of prostitution, authorities said.

"The operation was carried out to address concerns from local citizens and business owners," the release states.

"The City of Bradenton will continue its city-wide enforcement effort to prevent and stop the illegal acts of prostitution," the release adds.
