Recap: Seton Hall vs. Georgetown

Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Fuquan Edwin finished with 21 points as the Seton Hall Pirates downed the Georgetown Hoyas, 82-67, in a Big East Conference tilt at the Prudential Center.

Sterling Gibbs contributed 18 points and seven assists for Seton Hall (14-12, 5-8 Big East) as it snapped a three-game losing streak. Eugene Teague provided a spark off the bench with 12 points and seven boards. Jaren Sina chipped in 10 points and four assists.

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera paced the Hoyas (15-11, 6-8) with 20 points. Markel Starks chimed in with 13 points, while Jabril Trawick added 11 points and six boards.

The Pirates took a 37-28 lead into the intermission after they shot 53.6 percent from the floor including a 5-of-9 clip from beyond the arc in the opening period. Georgetown was limited to 41.4 percent efficiency from the field in the first half.

The Hoyas hardly improved to sink 41.9 percent of their field goal tries in the second stanza. Seton Hall pulled away by converting 18-of-23 shots at the free-throw line after the break.

The Pirates assisted 20 of their 27 makes from the floor and outscored the Hoyas, 15-8, in fast break points.
