Gladiators muscling minor league football opposition

The Bradenton Gladiators are off to a hot start in the Florida Football Alliance. The minor league football franchise has never won the league's title, but is 5-0 so far in 2014.

The Glads lead the NFC West Division, earning a pivotal 21-15 victory over nemesis Orlando in late January.

Bradenton fell to the Rage in last year's playoffs.

Last Saturday's game was a forfeit win over the Southwest Florida Panthers, and the Gladiators have outscored opponents 111-39. They are the last unbeaten NFC team with five regular season games remaining.

The Magic City Bulls and South Florida Storm from the AFC are the other two FFA undefeated teams.

Bradenton hosts the Miami Spartans this Saturday at the Manatee Police Athletic League sports complex scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start.
