Pocatello, ID (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Hansen poured in a game-high 27 points and drained the game-winning 3-pointer in overtime to lift the Idaho State Bengals to a 78-75 win over the Weber State Wildcats in a Big Sky Conference bout at Holt Arena.
Hansen shot 8-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-4 from 3-point range for Idaho State (10-13, 7-7 Big Sky), which has won three of four. Tomas Sanchez tallied 12 points and six assists for the hosts, while Jeffrey Solarin netted 10.
Davion Berry scored 20 points as Weber State (14-8, 11-3) snapped its three- game winning streak. Jeremy Senglin posted 18 points, Richaud Gittens poured in 14 off the bench and Joel Bolomboy logged 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The first half ended with Weber State holding a slight 32-31 lead after shooting 46.2 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes. Idaho State was much better from the floor (.571) but attempted five fewer shots and made three fewer 3-pointers than the Wildcats.
Idaho State ran out to a nine-point lead early in the second half, but Weber State answered with a 14-3 run to regain the advantage. The teams battled back-and-forth down the stretch until, trailing by two with 45 seconds left, Andre Hatchett drained a pair of free throws to tie the score and send the game to overtime.
With 1:29 left in the extra session, Hansen knocked down what proved to be the game-winning 3-pointer. Weber State missed its final three field goal attempts as Idaho State held on.
Idaho State shot 8-of-13 from 3-point range, while Weber State was just 7- of-25 from beyond the arc.
