Boone, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Lee Skinner led all scorers with 17 points and the Wofford Terriers came from behind to defeat the Appalachian State Mountaineers, 64-58, in a Southern Conference bout at the Holmes Center.
Skinner shot 6-of-9 from the field and added nine rebounds for Wofford (15-10, 9-3 SoCon), which extended its winning streak to eight games. Spencer Collins chipped in 12 points for the visitors, while CJ Neumann poured in 11.
For ASU (8-16, 4-7), Tevin Baskin scored 13 points, while Tab Hamilton and Tommy Spagnolo put up 12 and 10 points, respectively.
ASU shot a red-hot 63.6 percent from the field in the first half, while Wofford couldn't keep pace at 41.4 percent. The Mountaineers carried a 36-31 advantage into the break.
With the game tied at 44 with under nine minutes to play, the Terriers surged ahead for good thanks to a 5-0 run. Leading by just two with under a minute left, Wofford put the game on ice by scoring four unanswered points to close it out.
ASU committed a game-high 16 turnovers, which Wofford converted into 21 points.
