HERALD STAFF REPORTFebruary 15, 2014

— Officers had to forcibly remove an unruly customer who battered an employee at a Bradenton sports bar Friday night, according to a police report.

They were called to Fanatics Sports Bar & Grill, 4669 Cortez Road, at 9:47 p.m. when a customer "became unruly and battered an employee, and caused a disturbance inside the restaurant," the report states.

The customer continued to be "belligerent" and resisted arrest, police said.

Officers used force to take the customer to the ground in an attempt to put handcuffs on him, the report states. He sustained minor injuries to his head when he was taken to the ground and was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The arrested man was not immediately identified.
