Police: Child, 11, sexually battered by juvenile at Bradenton apartments

— Officers are investigating after an 11-year-old was reportedly sexually battered by another child in a Bradenton apartment complex.

Police were called out to the complex at 1818 MLK Avenue East around 5:14 p.m. Friday, where they learned the 11-year-old child had been sexually battered by another juvenile within the apartment complex.

The incident was stopped in the act when a group of juveniles approached them, according to the Bradenton police report.

The mother of the victim was uncooperative, police said. Child Protective Services was contacted.

Detectives say the suspect is known and the investigation is ongoing.
