Recap: UAB vs. Southern Miss

Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chad Frazier earned a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists for the UAB Blazers in an 84-60 rout of Conference USA leader Southern Miss at Bartow Arena.

C.J. Washington notched a game-high 21 points for the Blazers (15-9, 4-6 C- USA), who snapped a three-game skid. Rod Rucker and Denzell Watts added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Michael Craig scored 14 points for the Golden Eagles (21-4, 8-2), who had their seven-game winning streak snapped. Jeremiah Eason contributed 12 points in the loss.

The Golden Eagles struggled in the first half, shooting just 31.4 percent from the field, including only 1-of-10 from 3-point range. At the other end, the Blazers shot 46.9 percent, including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc, and found themselves up 41-29 at halftime.

Southern Miss improved to 45.5 percent from the floor in the second half, but was still no match for its opponent who shot 60.7 percent.

The Eagles' dreadful perimeter shooting proved costly, as they sank just 2- of-16 from beyond the arc in the defeat. The hosts made 11-of-23 on the outside.
