Spokane, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - David Stockton and Kevin Pangos scored 18 points apiece as the Gonzaga Bulldogs downed the Pepperdine Waves, 83-68, in West Coast Conference action at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
Przemek Karnowski contributed 17 points and seven rebounds for Gonzaga (22-4, 12-1 WCC), which also received 11 points and seven boards courtesy of Gary Bell, Jr. Stockton also handed out a game-high five assists as the Bulldogs picked up their 24th consecutive win at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
Stacy Davis paced the Waves (14-12, 7-7) with 14 points. Brendan Lane and Nikolas Skouen scored 12 points each while Malcolm Brooks chimed in with 11 points.
The Bulldogs outscored Pepperdine, 21-9, from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. Although the Waves knocked down 51.7 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half, they went into the intermission facing a 42-34 deficit on the scoreboard.
The visitors cooled off to shoot just 41.4 percent from the floor after the break. Gonzaga pulled away as it hit on 56 percent of its field goal tries and converted 10-of-12 shots at the free-throw line in the second stanza.
Despite the loss, Pepperdine's bench finished with 33 points compared to just 12 by the Bulldogs' reserves. Gonzaga enjoyed a 36-29 edge in the rebounding battle.
