Bradenton woman doesn’t fall for scam call

February 13, 2014

BRADENTON — The Bradenton Police Department reported a scam call failed to work on a woman in the 6000 block of 34th Avenue West at roughly 3 p.m. Thursday.

The caller left a voicemail on a house phone claiming to be Patrick Miller from the Bradenton Police Department looking for her daughter. The caller reportedly asked for her credit card information or there would be a warrant out for her daughter’s arrest.

Lt. James Wilkinson reported an officer tried to contact the scam artist but phone service was disconnected.
