16 people rescued after being trapped on roller coaster at Busch Gardens in Tampa

TAMPA -- Sixteen people were rescued after they were trapped on the Cheetah Hunt roller coaster at Busch Gardens in Tampa Wednesday afternoon.

Via Twitter, Busch Gardens said none of the people were injured.

According to meteorologists, there was heavy rain and wind in the area at the time.

Firefighters said weather did not hamper rescue efforts.

A photo Tampa Fire Rescue posted to its social media showed firefighters rescuing passengers.

At a length of 4,400 feet, the Cheetah Hunt is the park’s longest thrill ride attraction.
