Johnson Middle School's international studies soar

February 11, 2014

The Johnson Middle School of International Studies continues its pursuit of excellence in the following ways.

This past October, a reauthorization team from The International Baccalaureate Programme ascended on JMS for an intensive review of our school. The staff, students and parents showed exemplary knowledge of International Baccalaureate concepts while the team held two-day long interviews with stakeholders.

In addition, we recently had two of our students' quotation submissions selected from over 6,000 entries from around the world for inclusion in the 2014 Embracing Our Differences Art Exhibit. Beginning March 28, the exhibit will be displayed in Island Park at Sarasota's bayfront and Bradenton's Riverwalk Park.

These two accomplishments represent our school's ability to develop internationally minded people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of our planet.

Way to go Eagles!
