Police: Victim refuses to cooperate in attempted murder investigation

February 9, 2014

BRADENTON — The Bradenton Police Department reported an attempted murder occurred in a domestic dispute at about 1:09 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of 11th Avenue East.

A 911 hang-up call triggered a visit by BPD officers who reportedly found a female victim with visible physical injuries at the scene. The female reportedly told police she and her boyfriend were fighting in a vehicle when they arrived at the scene. As they exited the vehicle upon arrival, the male suspect reportedly fired two shots at her from a semi-automatic handgun. The female told police she jumped back in the vehicle for cover.

The male reportedly pulled the female from the vehicle and fled the scene.

While the investigation was ongoing, the female victim reportedly went into her residence and refused to cooperate. Shell casings were collected for evidence and the investigation continues.
