Ex-employee suspected in Bradenton gas station burglary

February 9, 2014

BRADENTON — An alarm was set off at Shell Gas Station, 3612 Cortez Road W., at 4:34 a.m. Sunday, which alerted the Bradenton Police Department.

BPD found the front glass door broken.

Management responded and video was obtained. A 5-foot-9 male with brown hair reportedly made entry into the business by smashing out the front glass door with a crow bar and removing a cash box containing about $400 before fleeing.

Management reportedly identified the suspect as a former employee. The cash box was later recovered but detective say the suspect was wearing gloves.

The investigation continues.
