Recap: Montana State vs. Portland State

Bozeman, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Paul Egwuonwu registered a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Montana State Bobcats beat the Portland State Vikings, 69-64, in a close Big Sky Conference contest at Worthington Arena.

Stephan Holm scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Bobcats (11-12, 6-6 Big Sky), who snapped a two-game skid. Marcus Colbert added 14 points and Flavien Davis had 10.

Gary Winston finished with 14 points for the Vikings (11-10, 6-6), who have lost two straight games. Marcus Hall and DaShaun Wiggins both tallied 12 points, and Kyle Richardson netted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Portland State shot 40.7 percent from the floor in the first period, including 4-of-10 from 3-point range, and took a 32-32 deadlock into the break. Montana State made 44.4 percent of its shots from the field.

The Bobcats connected on 50 percent of their field goal attempts in the second frame, as the Vikings struggled and converted just 36.4 percent of their field goal tries. Montana State went ahead by one with 5:28 left. The Bobcats went on a 13-9 run to close out the game.

Montana State's bench outscored the Vikings' reserves, 38-11.
