Missoula, MT (SportsNetwork.com) - Kareem Jamar scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Montana Grizzlies defeated the Eastern Washington Eagles, 82-77, in a Big Sky Conference matchup at Dahlberg Arena.
Jordan Gregory had 14 points for the Grizzlies (12-9, 7-5 Big Sky), who extended their winning streak to four games. Keron DeShields added 13 points, as Mike Weisner finished with 11. Andy Martin cleared seven rebounds.
Tyler Harvey logged 24 points and went 11-of-11 from the free-throw line for the Eagles (10-13, 5-7), who snapped a two-game winning streak. Drew Brandon chipped in 19 points and Martin Seiferth registered 12 and nine rebounds.
Montana shot 50 percent from the floor in the first frame, including 7-of-14 from 3-point range. EWU made just 33.3 percent of its field goal tries but went 13-of-18 from the charity stripe. The Grizzlies led 41-32 at the intermission.
The Grizzlies connected on just 39.3 percent of their field goal tries in the second half, but made 16-of-22 from the free-throw line, which was good enough to hold off the Eagles and earn the win.
EWU outscored the Montana, 30-24, in the paint. Montana had the advantage in 3-point scoring, 30-10.
