Athens, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kenny Gaines scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Georgia Bulldogs captured a 62-50 win over the Texas A&M Aggies in SEC play at Stegeman Coliseum.
Also scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs (12-10, 6-4 SEC) were Charles Mann and Brandon Morris with 10 points apiece, followed by Donte' Williams with nine and 10 rebounds as the team won for the second time in as many games.
Jamal Jones accounted for a game-high 17 points for the Aggies (13-10, 4-6), but he shot just 5-of-21 from the floor, including a dismal 1-of-10 behind the 3-point line as they suffered a sixth loss in seven tries.
Both teams shot under 40 percent from the field in the first half, but in addition to missing all nine opportunities on the perimeter, A&M was also outscored at the free-throw line, 5-0, as the Bulldogs posted a 25-23 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Aggies again struggled on the perimeter (0-of-10) and made a total of just eight field goals, en route to the double-digit road loss.
