Recap: Louisiana Tech vs. North Texas

Ruston, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kenneth Smith registered a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 10 assists as he helped guide the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to a 90-75 win over the North Texas Mean Green in Conference USA play at the Thomas Assembly Center.

Kenyon McNeail came off the bench to produce a team-high 18 points for the Bulldogs (20-5, 8-2 C-USA), shooting 4-of-6 behind the 3-point line. Alex Hamilton checked in with 15 points, Michale Kyser 13 and eight boards, followed by Chris Anderson with 12 points as the team posted a third straight victory.

The Mean Green (11-12, 2-7) were paced by Jordan Williams who posted 17 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, followed by Alzee Williams and Vertrail Vaughns with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as they fell for the fifth time in six games.

UNT led by as many as nine points in the first half, thanks to 48.4 percent shooting from the floor, but ended up trailing by a point at the break, 37-36, after being outscored 8-4 at the free-throw line.

In the second half Louisiana Tech feasted at the free-throw line with 24-of-30 shooting, cruising to the 15-point win as a result.

The Bulldogs turned the ball over just nine times and outscored North Texas at the charity stripe, 32-12.
